Prenatal Protections

Comprehensive care and support to safeguard the lives and dignity of mothers, children, and families

At First Rights Global, we are dedicated to advancing a life-affirming framework that recognizes human dignity as a fundamental right from the very beginning of life.

Protecting life at its earliest stages is more than a matter of medical intervention; it requires a comprehensive support system, ethical grounding, and meaningful legislation to secure the well-being of both mother and child.

In a country with vast healthcare resources and technological advancements, maternal and fetal health should be a top priority. Yet, the United States continues to face an unacceptably high maternal mortality rate, with alarming disparities that disproportionately affect Black women and low-income communities. According to the CDC, Black mothers experience maternal mortality rates three times higher than their white counterparts—a crisis driven by inequities in access, systemic biases, and gaps in prenatal care.

Around the world, the benefits of universal prenatal care are evident, with countries like Finland achieving some of the lowest maternal and infant mortality rates through accessible prenatal services. The U.S., by contrast, struggles with a fragmented healthcare system where high costs and inconsistent coverage often leave expectant mothers without essential support. The increasing reliance on chemical abortions—often administered without adequate medical oversight—underscores the urgency of ensuring both maternal safety and a commitment to life.

Our Prenatal Protections Initiative is grounded in four core values that uphold dignity and compassion at every stage of life:

Comprehensive Education on Fetal Development
Informed decision-making is a right. We advocate for education that empowers mothers, fathers, and families to understand and appreciate the development of the unborn child. This education builds awareness, empathy, and deeper connections within the family and community.

Ethical Policies for Reproductive Healthcare
Upholding ethical standards in reproductive healthcare is crucial to protect both the mother and the child. We support policies that are transparent, humane, and safeguard life, ensuring that each decision in reproductive care honors the inherent dignity of all involved.

Universal Access to Prenatal Care
We believe that every mother and child should have access to quality prenatal care, regardless of income or location. Ensuring consistent, compassionate medical support for mothers and their unborn children lays a vital foundation for healthy families and communities.

Family-Centered Supports for Every Mother, Father, and Child
A strong support system benefits both the individual and society. Our vision includes holistic, family-centered resources that address the emotional, financial, and social needs of mothers, fathers, and children, ensuring they are supported at every turn.

These core values define our commitment to human dignity, equity in healthcare, and the vital role of community in nurturing life from the very beginning.

We advocate for policies that ensure mothers and fathers receive the resources they need to welcome and nurture life, especially in cases of high-risk pregnancies or complex diagnoses.

Through transformative policy changes, community-driven support, and advocacy rooted in compassion, First Rights Global envisions prenatal protections as foundational to human dignity, health equity, and social justice—here in the United States and worldwide.
